How to Apply for a Prepaid Card
Step 1: Visit Your Home or Nearest Bank Branch
Customers (retail or corporate) can request a prepaid card by filling out a simple application form at the branch.
Step 2: Card Issuance
After verification, your card will be issued and dispatched to your branch address in a sealed welcome kit.

- What is the Expiry of Prepaid card & Gift card?
Ans: The expiry period of prepaid card is 3 years & that of Gift card is 1 year
- What are the types of Prepaid card?
Ans: There are two types of prepaid cards. One is Full KYC Prepaid Cards (Reloadable), and the other is Gift Cards (Non-Reloadable).
- How much amount can I load into Prepaid Card & Gift Card?
Ans: Prepaid Card has a maximum limit Rs. 2 lacs per card at any given point of time, whereas Gift Card comes with a limit of Rs.10,000 per card.
- How to block the card in case of stolen or broken?
Ans: You may temporarily block the card by logging in to the portal (https://ppims.bankofmaharashtra.bank.in/bomcustportal/bomh) or by calling our toll free number 1800-233-4526 or even by visiting your home or nearest branch.
- What will happen to the card after expiry date?
Ans: You may reissue your expired prepaid card by visiting home or nearest branch. Nevertheless, Gift card cannot be reissued, once expired and you may have to apply again to avail a new one.
- What if my account is debited but amount not loaded in my Prepaid card/Gift card?
Ans: In such scenario, you may raise a dispute by logging in to the portal (https://ppims.bankofmaharashtra.bank.in/bomcustportal/bomh) or by visiting home or nearest branch.
- Can I transfer the remaining balance of my Prepaid card back to any of my Bank of Maharashtra accounts?
Ans: No, you cannot transfer the balance of your prepaid card to your Bank of Maharashtra account while the card is active. Nonetheless, once your prepaid card gets expired, the remaining balance will be automatically get transferred to your Bank of Maharashtra savings account, from which you have loaded the amount in your prepaid card.
- Will the channels for e-Commerce/POS/ATM cash will be enabled?
Ans: For Prepaid card all channels i.e. e-com/ POS/ ATM will be enabled once the card gets activated, however, for Gift card, only e-com & POS channel will be enabled post card activation. ATM withdrawal is not allowed for Gift card.
- When can I start using the cards?
Ans: Once the card activation is completed, it is advised that you start using the card immediately.
