Individuals can visit bank branch with Official Valid Documents (OVD) and open PMJDY account. Also, individual can visit Business Correspondent location and open PMJDY account with Biometric authentication.

Eligibility:

Eligibility:

  • Citizenship: Must be a resident Indian citizen.
  • Age limit: Open to individuals aged 10 years and above. Minors aged 10 or older can operate an account themselves or under guardianship depending on bank rules.
  • No existing account: The applicant must not have any other savings account. If an existing savings account exists, it must be closed within 30 days of opening a PMJDY account.

Required documents:

To open a PMJDY account, an individual is required to submit the requisite KYC documents to the bank branch / Business Correspondent.

  • Officially Valid Documents (OVD): (any one of the following OVDs)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Voter ID Card
  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • NREGA Job Card (signed by a state government officer)
  • Letter issued by the National Population Register (NPR) containing name and address details.

Maha Gram Seva Kendra - An initiative by Bank of Maharashtra

Located in a remote village, the Kendra will provide all basic banking services to the customers. It will be manned by one bank official from the parent branch to which the Kendra is linked. 
This initiative is an alternative to BC model service delivery channel provided by the Bank in selected remote villages to give more personalized services.
